Aghinagh U13's are
West Division 2 Championships!
Aghinagh beat Ahan Gaels @ Carrigadrohid by 2 points on Sat afternoon.
First half conditions were atrocious with cold windy downpours whipping in from the west. Aghinagh played into the wind for the first half and found themselves 2 points down at half time.
While not perfect, 2nd half conditions improved but it was Ahan Gaels that started the smarter and scored 2 goals. With Agan Gaels now protecting a 6 point lead and packing their defence, Aghinagh were forced to keep the score board ticking over by kicking points. But a goal was needed. With 3 minutes remaining a great team move finally got Jacob Barry into some space and he cracked the ball into the net. From here there was only going to be one winner and Aghinagh kicked some beautiful points to run out 2 point winners.
Captain Jacob Barry accepted the winners trophy on behalf of a jubilant team.
